We provide commercial waste collection in the City of London for offices, shops, restaurants and managed buildings. The main difference here is access. Many buildings have their own contractor rules and loading bays, and the council sets rules on when business waste can sit on the street. We plan around both, and our crew loads the van from your premises.
Commercial waste in the City of London: what we clear
We do one-off clearances and scheduled repeat collections on days you pick. We leave no bins or skips on site. Typical City work includes:
- offices: office clearance after a move, refit or end of lease;
- shops: shop clearance when stock and fittings come out;
- restaurants: dry waste and packaging, with food waste arranged separately;
- managed buildings: general commercial waste, collected on days that suit the building.
Account terms can be agreed for businesses that need a regular collection. We do not take hazardous, clinical or chemical waste, asbestos, food waste, cooking oil or liquids, and we do not offer certified confidential shredding. If your business produces any of these, tell us early.

City of London council commercial waste, and how ours differs
If you searched for City of London council commercial waste, the short answer is that the council does not collect it itself. Its commercial waste page says the City of London Corporation "does not provide a commercial waste service". The service "can be arranged through our partner, Veolia", and the page also points businesses to the list of registered waste carriers on GOV.UK.
The council page does not say what the Veolia service includes or what it costs, so ask Veolia for those details before you agree anything.
A bin contract suits a business with room for bins and a steady weekly amount of waste. A van collection suits a one-off clear-out, bulky items such as furniture and partitions, a refit or a move. Our crew loads everything from your premises, so nothing is left waiting on the street.
Local rules for putting out business waste in the City
The council's rules are the strongest reason to choose a van. Its page says that between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Sunday, all businesses are restricted from putting out waste and recycling bags and loose cardboard for collection on the public highway and footpaths. The page does not say when waste may go out at other times, so check with the council before planning any pavement collection.
The council says Simpler Recycling rules require businesses in England with 10 or more full-time equivalent employees to separate recyclable materials and food waste from general waste, and that this applies to all businesses from 31 March 2027. Food waste needs its own arrangement.
Leaving waste on the street at the wrong time can lead to enforcement action, and handing it to a carrier that is not registered breaks your duty of care, which can be prosecuted. The council's commercial waste page and the GOV.UK register of waste carriers set out the rules.
Duty of care. The council says businesses must manage their waste responsibly and that waste must be transported by an authorised business. A waste transfer note must be completed for every transfer of waste or for a specified period, and kept for at least two years. We give a transfer note and an invoice on every job. Our upper tier waste carrier and dealer licence is CBDU502847, valid to 16 September 2029, and you can check it on the public register.
Access and timing in the City
The City is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ). TfL says the ULEZ covers all London boroughs and the City of London, runs 24 hours a day every day except Christmas Day, and covers vans up to 3.5 tonnes. The whole City also lies inside the Congestion Charge zone, so we plan routes and timings around both. Red routes, run by TfL, have their own loading rules, so tell us the loading bay early.
Many City buildings are managed. Send us the building's contractor rules, lift booking process and loading bay times with your quote request, and we will work to them. Our hours are Monday to Saturday, 7am to 7pm, with evenings, early starts and Sundays by arrangement.
