An office clearance usually comes with a deadline: a move date, a refit start or the last day of a lease. We plan the clearance around that date, bring enough crew to finish in one visit where possible, and leave the floor swept and empty.
What we clear from offices
- desks, pedestals, meeting tables and chairs;
- filing cabinets, cupboards and lockers;
- partitions, screens and old kitchen units;
- computers, monitors, printers, phones and cabling, taken for WEEE treatment;
- archive boxes, general waste and the clutter that collects in store rooms.
Furniture in good condition can often be reused rather than scrapped. Tell us if you would like us to set aside items for reuse, and we will tell you what is realistic.
Data on old computers
We don't offer certified data destruction. Wipe or remove hard drives before collection, or use a specialist IT disposal firm for the devices and let us clear everything else. For paper records, use a confidential shredding company that issues destruction certificates.
Clearing without disrupting work
In shared buildings, the lifts, loading bay and building manager set the rules. We book the goods lift, follow the building's contractor rules, and clear evenings or weekends so staff are not working around us. In Canary Wharf, the City fringe and other managed estates, tell us the building's rules early so we can plan.
End of lease and dilapidations
Landlords usually expect the space back empty. We remove loose furniture and waste, and can clear strip-out waste if your fit-out contractor is taking out partitions or carpets. See strip-out waste, and our office clearance checklist for a timeline.
Questions about office clearance
Can you clear an office at the weekend?
Yes. Sundays, evenings and early starts can be arranged, which is how most offices that stay open during the clearance prefer to do it.
Do you take computers and printers?
Yes. Electrical equipment goes for WEEE treatment, not to general waste. Remove or wipe data first, as we don't provide certified data destruction.
Can you work with our building manager?
Yes. Send us the building's contractor rules, lift booking process and loading bay times, and we will work to them.
