If you work for yourself, waste from your jobs is trade waste, even when it comes from someone's house. Council recycling centres generally don't accept it for free, and some don't accept it at all. Driving round looking for somewhere that will take it costs you a morning.
We take it off your hands instead. Meet us at the job, at your lock-up or at the yard where you keep the van, and we load it straight into ours.
What tradespeople send us
- old bathroom suites, boilers, radiators and pipework;
- kitchen units and worktops from refits;
- timber, plasterboard (kept separate), packaging and offcuts;
- old electrical fittings, cable and small electricals;
- bagged rubble and tiles in manageable amounts.
Trade waste disposal and your own licence
If you carry your own waste in your van, you normally need to register as a waste carrier yourself. Handing it to a registered carrier like us, and keeping the transfer note, is a simple way to stay on the right side of your duty of care. Our guide to trade waste disposal rules explains the registration tiers.
Regular pick-ups for small firms
If you run a few vans, we can collect from your yard on set days so waste never builds up. You get one invoice for the month and a season ticket covering the collections. See scheduled collections.
Questions about trade waste
Can you meet me at the job?
Yes. Tell us the address and when you will be there. We can load straight from your van or from the property, and you can get on with the work.
Do you take plasterboard?
Yes, but keep it separate from other waste. Plasterboard has to be handled apart from general waste, so mixing it in can make a load harder and dearer to dispose of.
Do I get a waste transfer note?
Yes, for every collection. It records what we took, where from and our carrier registration. Keep it for at least two years.
